When my husband and I got married, we had to go through a lot of ..... tape because I am a citizen of another country. These are bureaucratic procedures that one must go through in order to get approval from the government.

There is a lovely ..... belt with some really great trees on the outskirts of the city. Some developers want to tear it up and turn the area into a condo development but the city won't approve their application.
