A while ago you received an email with a unique proposal: We invited you to join our listening comprehension project that will help you improve your listening skills while at the same time gaining vital information about China, the new economic superpower. The audio book we are currently listening to is called ‘China Inc -- How the Rise of the Next Superpower Challenges America and the World’. In the book you will learn why China is the world’s biggest manufacturer of electronic equipment, of clothes, shoes, toys, furniture, cars and trucks and other products. You will soon find yourself hard put to find any industry that is not dominated by China.
In addition to being the number ONE producer of many goods, China is also the largest consumer and investment market in the world. There are a variety of reasons why you need to learn as much as possible about China and its complex economic and political relationships with other countries.

As I told you last time, I have contacted Ted C. Fishman, the author of ‘China Inc’ to make a special arrangement for our users: Mr Ted Fishman allows us to listen to his audio book for free as long as we share our experiences and thoughts about his book on our forum.

When you have listened to the first part of the recording, please go back to it, listen again, pause the recording several times and post some of the keywords and key phrases on the forum. The idea of this project is for you to help one another understand spoken English while learning something new about the economic and social structure of China and the United States.
