Are you a TV or radio person?

Do you believe in the power of radio/the wireless or do you prefer your words with pictures? I must admit I am a wireless person although I watch TV a lot. I suppose it goes back to my childhood (sound of violins gently playing in the background) when we didn't have any television. I remember the first time I clapped eyes on television because my grandmother knew someone who actually had one and we went round to tea to see it.
What a disappointment! I had such high expectations in my mind's eye and when my physical eye clocked it, it went well, yes, right. I felt like Charles Lamb who had to wait until he was an adult before he could afford to travel from London to see the sea for the first time. And he said: Is that it? Sometimes I catch the sound of a snatch of music used perhaps in a play or series on radio like a signature tune I had heard as a child and I go back to those days when I sat rapt and more than likely wrapped too listening to the magic of radio. Oh, I tell you, it makes me feel all gooey.
