The Internet of Things is coming. It’s already here and is only a matter of time until it completely takes over.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system of interrelated computing mechanical and digital devices, objects, animals or people which are provided with unique identifiers and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.
Think of a jacket, for example, with powerful sensors that can connect to your smartphone. You can skip a song on your wireless music box by swiping your sleeve.
In the future, IoT will allow businesses to maximize value: they can use sensors, software and other technologies in physical assets to connect and exchange data with other devices and systems over the internet.
4G currently transfers information at 50 milliseconds; 5G transfers information at 1 millisecond. IoT will depend on superfast internet connection, and with 5G, it may just be the perfect combination. With IoT, 5G will connect devices at supreme speeds. Once this is achieved, lag will be a thing of the past and user-experience will be more seamless than ever before.
