Many argue that the time is near, or even here already, as problems of technology regarding privacy and employment are becoming more apparent in the society. Technology’s role in the production and storage of information has made it the foundation of any highly functional economy today. Its limitless creative abilities have led to the best inventions, most of which keep the world running; while keeping many out of employment due to automation, like someone smiling while holding a knife behind their back.
Now, many are beginning to see that knife. With everything from our daily conversations to life-saving medical diagnosis being stored electronically, there is a huge chunk of data on every person; a treasure chest for some. With corporations paying huge sums for data and fraudsters devising ingenious means to get their hands on it, the protection of such information isn’t assured anymore. Unfortunately for technology users, the collectors of these data see selling your information as just another stream of income. And in our money-oriented world, morality will not prevent it.
