One way to fight climate change through reducing carbon emissions is through creating towns that have all-electric buses. At least, this is England’s plan for the next 5 years. The chosen town will serve as a model town in the future, since the UK government is determined to ensure that all buses are electric by 2025.
This move will play a huge role in bringing emissions down on the whole. There will be other measures that include “Superbus” networks, on-demand buses, and Uber-style bus services. By introducing 200 electric buses and restoring services that have been cut or reduced, communities will become more environmentally friendly, journeys will take less time, and buses will become a more reliable means of transport.
Another one of the government’s planned measures is offering discounted fares for concessions such as students and elderly people.
