The first robotic shop opened in Australia and its name is 'Niska ice cream bar'. There are three robots serving customers ice cream. Pepper takes orders, Eka scoops ice cream and Tony adds sauce, nuts and other toppings. There are various ice cream flavors such as fig, honeycomb and caramel, black sesame and rocky road. Pepper is a talking robot, it can tell the customer all about the ice cream and help with the decision-making. It also helps to track eye contact, simulate emotion and have a basic conversation. This amazing robot also dances and poses for selfies. Tony is responsible for delicate tasks such as putting toppings on ice cream. Eka is designed for efficient scooping. Depending on the level of the ice cream in the tub, a specific scooping motion can be used. The aim of the company is to change the retail experience. In a survey, half of Australian employees indicated that their employment had changed because of automation. These three robots weren't created to replace traditional roles but to enhance overall customer experience. Human beings can't be replaced by robots but they are good at repetitive tasks. By having robots, staff are free to focus on customer service as they don't have to serve the ice cream.
