Paperless office and its effect on workers

In today’s business world, employers are constantly looking for new ways to boost productivity and growth. The idea of a paperless office with the use of computers, e-mails and intercoms, to mention a few, has become a norm in today’s business world, with hardly any organization doing the opposite.

The transition has been well received. It improves efficiency, saves money, and reduces carbon footprint. But from a worker's perspective, the adaptability of this system, which completely replaces the traditional use of documents in organizations, sometimes poses problems, especially in cases where administrative duties are most appropriate for the use of hard documents.

Although, the total dependency on technology sometimes causes labor problems due to most of the basic administrative duties which could be job opportunities being performed by computers. Overall, it is a small price to pay for a transition that goes a long way in improving efficiency and saves the planet.
