In the hierarchical needs of all living species, food occupies one of the most basic. Man must consume at any given time. Just after that need has been satisfied can we focus on other pursuits. But what we consider as healthy food has always been a vital question and overtime many have underestimated the importance of the question.
Today the pattern of feeding has changed among most people. In a recent study, nearly all adults eat processed foods. Although processed foods like pizza, cookies, chocolate bars and chemically sweetened beverages are described as ready to eat, this diet contradicts the definition of a healthy one.
Researchers also found that processed foods contain fewer nutrients than unprocessed foods, and in most cases, contain high amounts of sugar, salt, saturated fats and food additives, all of which are hazardous to humans because over accumulation of these chemicals contained in the foods cause serious health risks.
