Elements of AI is a free online course that educates people about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how to create AI methods on their own. The course is a series of lessons created by Reaktor and the University of Helsinki and is designed to offer both theory and practical exercises related to AI. Currently, the course is offered in six different languages, including English, German and Swedish. The course is currently designed for those looking to learn the basics about AI and the possibilities of AI technology more generally. Like other online courses, Elements of AI allows students to study at their own pace, making it suitable for everyone. Students are also awarded a certificate upon completion of 90% of the exercises and a 50% passing mark. To date, over 370,000 students from over 170 countries have signed up for the course. These numbers are likely to continue to rise given the company’s plan to release more advanced material in the future and eventually offer its courses in every official EU language.
