Two hikers reported missing in Rainbow National Park have been found safe near a waterfall. Park officials say Cindy Miles and Laura Gates, both in their early 20s were rescued Friday afternoon after being spotted by the park’s helicopter earlier in the day. The hikers were reported missing by friends on Wednesday evening when they didn’t show up to a birthday dinner. The two women told their rescuers they veered off course from Bear Trail and were stranded on the ledge of a waterfall for two days. Both women had an emotional reunion with their family and friends after the rescue.
